We will practice "Buddy Reading" where we take turns reading a word, sentence or page.
We will be reading or listening to various holiday stories and illustrating our favorite part with a complete sentence. (Capital letter at the beginning, spaces in between words, punctuation at the end, and rereading the sentence to check if it makes sense and matches the illustration)
For writing we will continue using the language of the following while writing letters: Sky Line, Airplane (belly button) Line, Ground Line, and Wormy Line. This will help support my darling write each letter correctly.
Please practice Iready for 45 minutes for reading weekly.

SCIENCE:Researching and sampling foods from Holiday's Around the World unit.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Holiday's Around The World
We will continue our unit on learning how several other countries celebrate this holiday/winter season.
We have created a boarding pass and passport that we will use to board our online airplane.
We are excited to receive a stamp in our passports as we arrive to the following countries: Israel, Germany, Mexico, China, and Holland.
As we visit these amazing countries, we will discover their customs, rituals, celebrations, create crafts, and sample some of their food!
We will document our experience in our journals that we will keep in our suitcase!
A Note From Ms. Sudnick: What a FULL week we had last week!!! Our trip on the Polar Express was a fantastic hit! We had a blast having a pajama party cuddling with our stuffed animals as we experienced Ms. Sudnick's Movie Theater! We held onto our ticket and waited for it to be punched as we got on board. We also munched on our Pirate Booty while sipping on our chocolate milk... finally having our sweet cookie for dessert! We learned the sweet lesson of believing in ourselves as we continue to be our best! As the movie ended... we received a bell to check if we believed. Hopefully, the tickets and bells made it home...lol! We also thoroughly enjoyed our field trip to the Butterfly World to end our week! Wow what an experience! Even though we were excited, it was a very peaceful space! Most of my darlings fell asleep on the ride home... they looked like angels! Please mark your calendar for this Thursday, December 20th at 8:45am! We welcome you all for our Holiday's Around the World Presentation! We will be performing several songs followed by presenting our suitcase filled with our journal and all our creations from the countries we visited! You are going to burst from the cuteness!!! A lot of you have asked if you can take our cherubs following the presentation and the answer is yes, you simply need to sign them out at the front office. I realize a lot of you have holiday or brunch plans so that is fine! Also, if they have any siblings that would like to watch our little show, you may sign them out of their morning class as well. I would like to wish you all the joy and peace as you celebrate this holiday season with loved ones... I will miss my school sons and daughters immensely!!! I hope to keep in touch over break as promised! It is truly going to be difficult not to see and squeeze them for TWO WEEKS!!! Sigh... xoxo

Just a reminder, as weeks are dwindling for 2018, we are working toward mastering all of our sight words as well as independently reading book level "B" this quarter for reading in order to be on track for promotion to first grade. The goal for kindergarten is to be reading at a "D" Running Reading Record level independently with comprehension score of 5/7 by the end of the year. Please practice reading and sight words at home as many of our sight words are in our mini readers. You can also practice using markers, shaving cream, play dough, rainbow writing, or even painting.
